Ghabka 2010
Dear Members,
Hope that the summer allowed some quality family time and some rest for at least some of you. Foolishly I tried to escape the summer heat in Canada this year and ended up in what was called a "heat wave" ie 30 degrees during the day!
Speaking of cultural differences our meeting this month will be an opportunity to commune with our host country's culture by experiencing a traditional Ramadhan meal in a superb local setting. So no presentation this time but an opportunity to network in the context of this most active of social seasons in Kuwait and to celebrate with our host country their most important religious festival. So you are all invited to a Ghabka on 31st August 2010 at 20:00 at the Radisson Hotel, Bida'a in the setting of the Maritime Museum.
On this occasion we will also join with our colleagues at Canadians in Kuwait.
If you have not experienced a Ghabka before we strongly encourage you to sample this unique climate and the millenary tradition behind it. If you have I am sure you will agree with me that this is a special time and well worth partaking in. Please book as usual on the website no later than close of business on 29th August. On this occasion feel free to invite as many guests as you like as the whole spirit of the occasion is to experience the event. Price for the full dinner is KD9 for members and KD12 for guests.
